Description
This Santa Cruz Coastal Flyer, Emerald Sea, is a real head turner with beautiful mahogany wood work, comfortable helm and interior and low hour Yanmar engine with Ultra Jet propulsion with Joy Stick control. Emerald Sea has been well maintained by the owner for many years and just had the brightwork refreshed, bottom painted, and boat waxed before winter storage. She is ready to cruise.
Design features include:
- Gerr-Vee Hull Modified for Jet-drive Propulsion
- The hull is made with lightweight yet durable E-glass and Kevlar, a technique borrowed from Santa Cruz’s sailing yacht designs
- “Picnic boat” aesthetic. Designed for soft ride and excellent directional stability
- Shallow V-shape amidships, then flattens to about 24 degrees on the run to the transom.
- Inverted bell shape and the chines become shallow arc shaped
- Rumble Seat in the Bow with Cushions
- Electric Windlass with plow anchor
- A transom door leads to the teak swim platform with seating to each side.
- Granite countertops and a teak and holly sole, with mahogany cabinetry
- On the bridge deck, an L-shaped settee to port converts to a queen-size berth
- Forward head with marine toilet and wetdown Shower
- Forward double berth to starboard and a settee that converts to a single berth to port.
- This boat has a maximum headroom below 6’4”
- Galley Propane Stove, Single Sink, Refrigerator with freezer and Microwave.
- Wetbar on stern includes ice maker and sink
- Bow Rail added in 2025

Propulsion
- Yanmar 6LY-STE Crate Engine Installed in 2020, Hour meter was not changed, but estimated around 400 hours since engine change.
- Ultrajet steering system has been upgraded with a new hydraulic pump, hosing and cooler as well as new solenoids and flow control valves to fine tune the response. This work was done in 2023.
